These shots are not quite as colourful and smooth backgrounds as I'd like all my insect macros to be, but I still am a sucker for recording the different species as I see them.
I have left an interestingly textured piece of bark in the flowerbed, ostensibly to attract springtails over the winter, but it has provided me with plenty of other subjects too.
Seems to be the time of year that the hemiptera start showing up, as I've had a few different bug species in the last two days. Here's three of them.
Oh go on then, have a more colourful one if you must....
