buying a lens thats been in for recall

Need a quickish reply here but would you touch a sigma 150-500 os lens that was called in for recall to fix the af.

As im thinking everything should be working ok and all fixed. but just want to see what you folks thing about this?

Did it have a problem that has been repaired or was it sent to be checked because it fell between the serial nos for recall?

If it has been repaired should now be ok.

I would be more wary of one that is within the recall serial nos but has had nothing done.

its been called in for serial nos and was send in, the seller has the paperwork to prove its been done ...

If it has already been sent back to Sigma for the fix and the seller has all the paperwork to prove it then there shouldn't be a problem. I personally wouldn't let it put me off.

I didn't know there'd been a recall on this lens, mine works fantastically. I decided to keep the Sigma when I compared it closely with my Canon 100-400 L as the Sigma, IMHO worked better in IS/OS by far and the IQ was about equal. In fact, I was so pleased with the 150-500 OS on my 5D3 that I went and got the 120-400 OS for my second body (60D).

If anything would this not make it even more desirable as I'm guessing it would have been given a check over at the same time? Could mean it's super sharp
