what epson printer did you get?

check out 7dayshop for epson paper

http://www.ink2paper.com/ the range (largest I have found anywhere) includes matt paper hard to get in certain sizes elsewhere
and its instant dry.

I have found that some of the cheaper gloss photographic paper either takes ages to dry and even then if not handled carefully smears

Hi I have a account with Costco, sounds good, do you order the paper on there website or buy it from their shop? Do Costco have the Premium Semi gloss paper? :).

Just get it from there store

and i think its just gloss

Hi the Epson R2880 :).

plenty of papers you can choose from.

for gloss go for either ilford smooth gloss or harman crystaljet gloss
for semi-gloss go for either ilfors smooth pearl or harman crystaljet pearl

both these are cheap as chips and you get free ICC profiles.

for special prints consider using one of the fibre based papers ilford gold fibre silk, harman FB gloss, Innova ultra smooth gloss.

thats because its probably a swellable paper not a microporus coating so the ink sits on the surface rather than sinking in to the pores. swellable paper is not suitable for pigment inks and even with dyes they take time to dry.
