Hi guys going there in may so is it worth taking the D80 or a point and click just worried in case the D80 goes missing

if your anything like me... take the D80... or youl spend your whole holiday, just like 'gah!!!! if only i had my camera, this would make a great shot':p:) just be carefull with it:D

Even if your not in to wildlife, there light and colours there are incredible so your going to want to capture them as best you can! I go back again this friday actually for 10 days :)

[S1]Can't Argue with that[/S1]

Can you get me and my Canon in your luggage?

First time we went I took a point and shoot, the second time my dslr, 10-22, 24-105 and 70-200 lens. I found the point and shoot a little limiting, but I didn't use the 70-200.

First time I went I took an slr (was years ago!) After that took point & shoot. Then went to live there and never took any images at all!!!

Just make sure you take a couple of ND grads if you're thinking of any landscapes.

I'm off a week Friday and am taking the following.

Canon EOS 40D, Canon 50mm f1.4 lens, Sigma 10-20mm lens, Canon Speedlite 430 EX II, cactus triggers, spare battery and memory.

This all fits into a Crumpler Pretty Boy XL. I don't have any long glass so this is not a consideration. I plan to take some strobist style pictures of the kids and hope to pick up a Lumiquest III softbox when I am out there. Never thought about an ND grad but will maybe take one.
