How do you have these set up? I'm wondering if it would be necessary to have it set to record simultaneously to both cards, or is card failure very unlikely?
I don't see the need to do a jpeg copy as I can easily do that in PS afterwards.
Curious what other folks do

For day to day shooting I normally have it set-up or to overflow onto the next card when one is full, if I'm on holiday or a paid job I write to both together as a backup

Always use one to back up the other. Never had to use the back up yet, but always a possibillity that I may need to do so.

Just buy the relatively 'expensive' Pro-Cards and select overflow - never had a problem in 4 years...
Always clear the cards by formatting in-camera after every time you download to the PC/Mac. Never erase manually or on the PC/Mac.

Just had a card fail on me. Can see the preview jpegs but cannot access the RAW images. First one in 5 years to fail . Usually check images on laptop but small job so didn't bother with it ( that'll teach me )

Unfortunately used my camera that only has one card slot.

Card now on way to landfill , fortunately had sufficient images to get away with it

I always use as an overflow. I tend to have a pair of Sandisk Ducati's in there.

Kev.

I have had cards fail on me and believe me it's not nice.

I record the same image to both cards simultaneously every time without fail. The disaster of losing the shots on a paid job doesn't bear thinking about.

Also agree with Rob's (Arkady) advice regarding formatting cards in camera. Do it every time once the images have been downloaded.
