hi all i have been asked to do a family portrait (5 adults and 12 children!!!!) i have only got a sony a 200 with a built in flash on a tripod! the photo will be taken and my living room against a blue sofa and a cream wall! any suggestions

So, seventeen people on your sofa? I suggest you pick a different setting for a start

Get them all wrapped up warm in their most colourful togs, and get them outside

I read this post yesterday and couldn't come up with a better idea than Betty's. I'm sorry - but I still can't. That's an awful lot of people to get on and round a sofa. You'll need to get them away from the wall to minimise shadows and unless your living room is huge it will be a nightmare! I don't know how powerful your built-in flash is - but if you really do have to do this shoot indoors I'd try to borrow some studio flash.
