Ive just noticed, when using my Canon 17-55mm, It doesnt go all the way to 55mm when zooming, It stops short. I thought this might just be the markings, but Ive checked the EXIF and it only goes up to 50mm even when fully extended.

Is this normal??

Hmm.. Odd. A trip to Canon then I guess...

Just checked one of my pictures and definitely showing 55mm on EXIF

Very strange, have you tried another lens fully zoomed out?

Ive tried the 70-200 and thats normal. I think its the lens, as it doesnt even reach the 55 mark.

i had to send mine off for repairs before due to problems with zoom sticking, not quite the same as your problem but these lenses definitely lack L build quality even if the glass is pretty much as good. Real shame tbh

Seems likely it is the lens then, guess its going on its hols for a while

Looks that way, Lehmanns want £162, unless there is a "major spare" needed. What a major spare is I do not know.

Going to ring Canon Elstree sometime too and see if they are cheaper.

Even I havent had a holiday this year.. :'(

Go for Canon Elstree, their repair will only cost you the price they quote. They also seem to generally be cheapest.
