We missed our planned Australian adventure thanks to the Iran-American war as we were banned from flying via Dubai so got our money back and thought let’s explore some Canadian cities, did the whole Rocky Mountaineer last year.
We are arriving in Toronto for five days (Niagara Falls, CN tower, the aquarium) then to Ottawa via rail for five days then Quebec via rail for five days and finally Montreal via rail for five days and fly home. Can you recommend places to visit and photo in Ottawa, Quebec (Montmorency Falls) and Montreal please? I’m sure me and Mrs Dave will sort something out but it would be nice to show off and impress the Mrs when we arrive. We will be travelling with my trusty Sony a200, Panasonic cam corder, my Panasonic TZ-70.

What does Free mean on my post?

You probably inadvertently selected it when creating the post - you can also change it by editing the original post.

Sounds like a fun trip, although I can't offer advice because I only know the West side of Canada.

You can visit the Parliament building in Ottawa which is more like a UK town than a capital city (there is also an interesting canal nearby). I have only been to Montreal Airport and a MacDonalds in Toronto when driving from Niagara to Ottawa. All my visits to the cities were business trips but, like you, I did the Jasper area and the Rocky Mountaineer in 2010; our best holiday ever. Enjoy your trip.

I did that trip around 20 years ago with ViaRail and we had some really nice hotels in each of the 4 cities. I don't think you need so much time in Toronto to be honest, lots to enjoy in Quebec City and Montreal. The Parliament Building in Ottawa is definitely worth a visit, not quite so much to see or do otherwise. We flew in and out of Montreal due to it being slightly cheaper than going to Toronto. Helicopter ride over the Niagara Falls and the Maids of the Mist are worth doing just for the hell of it.
