My good lady has just undergone kidney surgery for cancer. We are waiting to hear about what the future hold in terms of treatment. Anyone been in the same situation and can advise on holidays, air travel, insurance etc., please? We want to make some more memories if she is able. Her fitness is returning, albeit slowly (early days- six weeks after surgery).

My wife had chemo and surgery for breast cancer and have since travelled by air and obtained health insurance.
The only company who didn't offer cover were the Post Office, we have a yearly policy with Avanti.
Have flown by BA and currently in Brussels having travelled on Eurostar.
Just complete the medical statement on the online insurance form and see what it comes back with cover and price wise.
Hope the evil cancer is eradicated and youe wife's recovery goes well.

My other half has had two lumpectomys over the last 5 years and had no problems with insurance. The last one was last july and we drove to Italy two months after. Very best wishes for her recovery.

I've done extensive research on this over the last year and all i'll say is read the policy wording very carefully. Stay Sure and Avanti for example state they will not pay for treatment at a private facility, that a state facility should be used where available so it's imperative to research what facilities are in your chosen destination. I would also disregard all reviews and comments saying how great they are and how easy it was to set up the policy, that's irrelevant, there's a ton of reviews where they have done all they can to deny genuine claims.
