and rental is also good before investing 600+ quids for a lens, i can recommand you a very good rental if you want to! very professional, i was delighted to rent them a 100- 400 for two weeks with insurance
 
I love mine, got some really good shots from it but not tried it in anger!

And at 2.5x the price too... Doesn't LR3's lens correction get rid of CA for most cases with the lens (I shoot raw only)
