canon 15-85mm & 18-135mm price difference

How come the 7d kit with the 15-85mm lens is like £200+ more expensive than the 18-135mm kit? They both have IS and they both have the same aperture

the difference just seems to be in the focal range. What makes the 15-85mm lens so much more expensive?

just noticed the 15-85mm has USM so is that the price difference right there? Is the USM just a quieter motor or does it add extra quality too?

I think you will find the USM is faster in focusing

Quite a bit to be honest, but its not really super wide so if you want wide angle I would say your better going for a dedicated wide angle lens, such as the Siggy 10-20.
