Canon 17 - 85 IS Lens

I have always though and tried to stick with L Lens Glass as I already have a 17 - 40 L which is a lovely lens. And been thinking of getting a 24 - 105 L or 24 - 70 L but what about the 17 - 85 EFS Lens IS

The 17-85 is not in the same league as the 24-105 or 24-70 but then again it is less than half the price. Might be worth you reading the review on these lenses here : http://www.photozone.de/reviews

Somewhere in here, you need to tell us what the lens is for....the 17-85 is slow at the long end and is in an entirely different market to the 24-70L.

Well... What I want is a good lens that can stay on my cam most of the time as a walk about lens and i be taking pictures like landscapes and people buildings what ever i can catch while in the city if possible.. Alot swear buy the 24 - 105 L

The 24-105L fits the bill.....a 28-135 IS would be another option at around 1/3 of the price and half a stop faster than the 17-85 at the wider settings.
