Canon 18-135 for holidays.

Hi,

This unfortunately is another "what lens? thread."

I'm going to Portugal and then centreparcs in February so the types of shots that will be being taken are wide.

I havn't got anything wider than 28, there for I was thinking a sigmas wide option. However, I don't want to be constantly changing lens as I'll only have a 7D body and a bridge camera.

I know the 18-135 isn't a "brilliant l lens" but is it a good gap filler, as I have the following:

28 2.8
28-80
50 1.8
150-500
all of which will be coming on holiday with me.

As you can see, I have no wides and very limited midrange,

Budget is going to be around £200 as I need to keep the girlfriend in my goodbooks for when I get a fast 70-200 this summer! Also as I plan on doing some landscapes, perhaps a high ND or similar? I was thinking a screw in filter would be the cheapest option? I only currently have a 58mm up to ND8.

I've used the 18-135mm quite a bit when I don't want to swap lenses.
In fact it was stuck to my camera quite a bit in Cape Town last year.

Not the best lens in the world by any margin but it certainly does a job.
It's really handy if your going for a day out and don't want to take another lens with you are worry about dust when changing or by the time you've changed the shot has gone.
