Canon 1D Mk2 (shutter replacement)

My shutter on my 1D Mk2 has failed, anyone her had to have a replacement done.

Canon Professional Service Repair Centre or Fixation in Colchester are who I am currently considering!

If you are in Cambodia, then I have no idea!

I heard it's around £250 but that's just internet myth, I don't know for sure!!!

Been quoted 300 by the place in Stoke... sounds 2 much. Can get it done for $200US in Bangkok..:thumbsdown:

I'm a CPS gold member and sent it to Canon Elstree. They charged me £235 ish (not sure why Malla got it cheaper!) - turnaround was amazing - I sent it Thursday, I authorised the repair Friday pm and they despatched Monday.

I made a lot of noise over it having only done 37000 shots, even got a full service and calibration.

Same here with my old MK2, only had about 60,000 actuations, about 2 years old so i qouted the good old phrase "not fit for the purpose and not of merchantable quality" which immediatly brought it in under £200 with a free service.

those 2 phrases scare the pants off any manufacturer
