Canon 24-70 F2.8 MK I ordered

i needed 2.8 in my life throughout the ranges so now i will have,

24-70 2.8
70-200 2.8 IS II

cannot wait to use them for portrait and wedding together, anyone else got this combination? and what do you love / hate about it?

I have the 24-70mm and the 70-200mm F2.8IS mk1
I use the 24-70 more than any lens I have ever owned - and I used to buy and sell lenses for fun at one point so I have used a fair selection
and I find the 24-70mm just great for such a variety of subjects and it will focus very close to the subject - its nice and sharp and I can never see my self not owning this or the mk2 version that is apparently coming out soon

my 70-200mm also gets plenty of use and again such a useful range I am pretty sure you have a lot of options covered with your lens choices

i had both and both are excellent lenses (i have the non is 70-200, the mk ii is is even better), on a 5D2 i can tell you that you will not be disappointed.

both focus quickly, accurately and have great colour/contrast.

but i actually sold the 24-70 2.8 recently and purchased the 35 1.4.

i think the 24-70 is an excellent lens, but it just lacked something for me and i love the look of a fast prime shot wide open or near wide open, both lenses have their weaknesses, and what i again in aperture i lose in flexibility and the 24-70 is nice range, but not the best lens for portraits, in my opinion - i prefer portraits taken with longer lenses.
