I currently shoot with a 35L and a Sigma 85 1.4 for weddings on a 5d mk3, and these are great. I finding more often that I want to go wider so wanted to ask opinions on the 24mm 1.4 shooting FF and how people find it?

Have heard good things, the only downside being that it can be tricky at first getting used to being that wide.

Thanks!

I have it and love it - sharp wide open, great for low light and crystal clear when stopped down a little.

Speaking on behalf of a friend of mine who does event photography, he went for the 16-35 F/2.8 over the prime.

Simply saying "The shots were more useable when shooting wide open, F/1.4 would of been amazing for astro photography but he found that in conjunction my flash, I was missing quite alot of shots as focusing in dark environments through the viewfinder was quite hard".

He was using a 1dmk4 and a 5dmk2, but the best thing to try is renting it. By far the most repeating fact about that lens is the build quality and optical quality. Words can only go so far however!
