canon 450d or nikon d5000??

Welcome to the club i'm in the same dilemma. Have you tired picking up both in a shop and maybe even trying to take some shots might narrow it down

no im going down today to have a play lol luckily my dad is oging to buy my p90 off me for £300 :-D lol

As a Nikon man I have to say.......

buy the one that feels most comfortable for you. Trying them in the shops should help you tremendously.
 
As a Canon man I have to say........

I totally agree with PsiFox :)
 
Standard question: what do you want to photgraph?

If you want to do a lot of photography at night or in poor light then the Nikon is probably the best bet.

If, like me, you're into wildlife photography, then I'd go for Canon since its 1.6 crop factor will give you slightly more reach on your zoom lenses than the Nikon's 1.5.
