Canon 450D - Sticky Wheel - Advice Needed

Hey Guys,

The wheel on the front of my Canon 450D (highlighted in photo below) that is used to alter different settings/scroll etc has become sticky.

It used to move freely whereas now it frequently sticks and can be hard to move ....

I just wondered if there was any reason for this and if there was anything I could do .... I have left the WD40 well alone for this one!!

I'm not sure about WD40, thats oil based I think. I'd be tempted to maybe try a contact cleaner spray, these seem pretty harmless to electrical gear, I'm guessing theres just crud got in, or do you think somethings broke? Wayne
