Canon 500d Really basic question!

Hi folks

I have had my 500d for a year...and never used video mode

I tried shooting aircraft in flight last week....but I didn't like the live view mode
Basically... I have eyesight issues and struggle looking at the monitor in daylight

In my case it would be much better for me to look through the view finder while shooting movies......but I don't know how to do this..or if it is possible?

Like I said it is a basic question....Be Gentle!

Any help would be appreciated

Regards

Ben

You can't use the viewfinder while shooting video. You could try using something like an LCDVF.

you could get an anti glare screen protector...would that help?
you can also get a kind of hood to reduce glare which could attach to the back

Sorry for the late reply.... Had internet issues over the last few days ..OK now : )

Thanks for the replies
Will definitely give all suggestions a whirl

Kind regards

Ben

I used an eyepiece hood when I had mine! You have no option but to use a liveview type viewer when recording with a DSLR
