Canon 50d - Hahnel remote release

Please don't be offended by the following suggestion but it's based on a mistake that someone else made a while back.

The Hahnel usually comes with adapters for a 350/400D style plug and 20/30/40/50D style plug. The 350/400D style plug fits in the 50D's video out socket....are you getting ahead of me here?

The remote shutter socket is the lower socket on the front row of the body (the row nearest the lens mount. The video output socket is the middle socket of the back row.

Hi Bob,

Not offended at all.

I did use the correct adapter though ,which is the one with 3 holes and fits at the front second down with the picture of the remote switch on. I then pushed the connections home fully as shown on the diagram.

Took it back to shop and tried canon one and it slotted in lovely. Didn't want to force other so I paid the extra in the knowlege it will work without any problems.
