Canon 50D sync speed

Guy's for any of you out there using a 50D what shutter speed do you set it to when shooting with studio lights? I have been using 1/125th at ISO 100 and someone has just told me today it should be 1/250th. Just looking for a quick answer.

Its in the menu. <looks>

Menu > 2nd tab from right > C.Fn I

That's from a 40D but I expect the 50D is no different.

The fastest sync speed of the 50D is 1/250 based on a normal setup.

I usually go between 1/160, 1/200 and 1/250 when working with flash.
