Canon 600D + Sigma 150-500 + monopod

With a Sigma 150-500 mounted on my Canon 600D, do I attach them to my monopod using the Canon mount or the Sigma mount? In other words, do I hang the lens off the camera, or hang the camera off the lens?

Moved from Tutorials where it was awaiting approval as a new tutorial....
 
The camera is light enough to hang in the lens mount. I do the same with my 7d (which is a lot heavier) and always attach it by the lens foot.
 
OK, thanks, I'll use the lens foot.

It's what I suspected but I was hoping for different so I could leave the foot at home: we're off to Antarctica and then Iguazu Falls so I need to keep equipment weight down to an absolute minimum to allow for adequate cold and hot weather clothing!
 
Having once fallen foul of FlyBe's nasty, uncompromising, inflexible (etc, etc) luggage policy at Southampton, believe me, every little helps!

Waer a big coat and stick some small heavy items in the pockets then, as far as I know they don't weigh passengers, though with the wide weight disparity seen in some of David Cameron's BIG society, perhaps they should.

Been there and done that but no t-shirt. After FlyBe's outrageous performance at Southampton - they wanted to charge over £300 to take on a carry-on that was too big by the radius of the wheels - I opted to throw the case away, 'wear' all of the contents I could and carry the rest in a plastic bag. I then bought 3 litre bottles of Drambuie air-side and carried them on. Not a murmur, even though I was now carrying on more than I had had originally. And I'm still enjoying the Drambuie!

I was weighed once, many years ago. I don't know why as I was around 11 stones and 5' 11'.

They should certainly weigh those who overhang the arm rests. We've suffered more than once. I understand that on some US airlines 'larger' passengers are required to buy a second seat.
