Canon 600mm f4 - Lens Hood

It looks to me as though the lens hood is a £550 "extra"

and that the lens does NOT come with the Hood ……. is this correct?

Do you guys use the hood ……………. I would image that you would use a hood almost all the time?

plus I find that the hood on my 600mm Nikon helps to protect the lens

It does come with a hood Bill - definitely not an extra.
and you get the peli-case too.

all the images show it without a hood and there is no mention in the write up

They come with the hood. I had my ET155 W(ii) replaced by Canon under warranty and the CPS invoice shows it as £298.54 in value, yet WEX retail it at £699.

Yeah, I'm a little wary of SE, they've got some decidedly iffy reviews (and some good ones too).
Once I've sold the sigmonster, and one of our cars I'll be getting this lens from photovideodirect.

Comes as standard , mine is 6 months old from fixation
