Apart from a very small amount of rotation (with all lenses) within the 'bayonet', I don't get any play with any of my lenses on my 50D, including the 150-500. I do get some play in the barrel of my 28-135mm - but this is not at the mount part of the lens or the body.

that sounds the same when my 150-500 is on the tripod i can move the camera a bit in either direction it just bugs me a bit

thanks for taking time to reply

Hi Bleddyn, my 150-500 has a bit of play on both my 7D and 5D3 and has from when it was new. It's only a couple of millimetres at the most but it's definitely there. My Sigma 24-70 is the same and a couple of my Canon, including the 70-200 f2.8L MkII, also move a bit. The only ones that do't move are my 35 f2 and 50 f1.4 but there's hardly any weight to them anyway.

Mine's like that too, annoys me but at least I now know they're all the same. ;)
