Are there any known issues with recent copies of these lenses ie date codes of 2010. I am interested in buying one and there seems to have been a few for sale over the last couple of months with seemingly no intrerest?

So is there anything that I should be aware of before looking to purchase?

TIA.

I think its partly to do with xmas on the way and the fact that amazon sold them a few months ago for £650 new over a weekend. Ive not heard of any issues and is supposedly the sharpest of the 70-200's (not including the new mk2 2.8)

No issues that I am aware of.

It is definitly a very sharp lens - I am consistently impressed with mine!

Really? I was about to splash out on one from Jessops at £799 (possible Quidco cashback), but now I'm wondering whether to wait for a pre-Christmas 'offer' such as that.

I wouldnt hold your breath on that deal coming up again, it was probably i misprice to be honest but quite a few people got them at that price.

My advice is

Buy it now (from Kerso)

Use it

Be happy :D

Only selling mine cos I've gone back to Nikon. I suspect many people are so impressed with the F/4 version, they uprgrade to the F/2.8 version.

Definateley a great lens and is pretty lightwieght compared to the 2.8's
