Can anyone help? I have a new Canon 7D which for the last week has been working fine, however this morning having taken a few shots I find that the Photo's have lines all over them, is this something I've done? :suspect:

Have you tried the restore to factory default settings option?

Looks nasty. Can you see the lines on the camera screen? Have you got another memory card to try? Also if you are using a card reader, try transferring directly from the camera.

Factory reset didn't work. Yes the lines show up on my LCD when I take the shot. Will try another memory card now.

Did you buy it new? Sounds like a trip back to the shop or phone call may be needed.

Do the lines appear on the computer or is the original image a picture of the camera screen?

Yes it's brand new and yes the lines are there when I download the image as well.

does it show on liveview?

based on what you describe here it unfortunately looks like a problem with the sensor or the electronics used to build the final image for display and capture. either way, i think you've tried everything you could to eliminate.

Certainly looks terminal m8.

Just phoned Jessops, they are going to swap it for a new one so off to the shop I go :-)

Had a 400D for 2 years which has been half way round the world and it hasn't faulted once. 7D has lasted 2 weeks just going aroung the country ........... lol. I hope this isn't going to be a recurring pattern.

I've always found Jessops very good with sorting genuine problems.

One of the reasons I use them.

.

We are always quick to slag companies off the moment they don't quite do what we would like so it think it only fair to say well done when they perform well.
The purchasing of the camera from them was also a pleasure, very friendly and helpful which is more than can be said for some shops I've been in recently but that's another matter

Jessops shops are pretty much all the same. It's the staff that are different. If you are lucky, you get an assistant who has done his research and knows what he is talking about. They are worth their weight in gold cis there just ain't enough of them about.
I prefer to judge a company, whether it be a shop or an insurance company on how they treat you when something goes wrong or you have to claim. I will pay a bit over the odds for that peace of mind.
