This is Canon we're talking about though! They are first class at burying their heads with regards to what the competition are doing.As above, I'd have expected 4K video by now. The GH4 from Panasonic was released Feb 2014 and had 4K.
I have used my 70D for video but only small segments. I really need an external mic, LED light and a shoulder support thing to do it properly.
I think expecting 4k was always going to be wishful thinking simply because the 7D MKII hasn't got it either. Ok the 7D MKII is a year or so old now but putting 4k a very capable mid range body would make the 7D MKII a much harder sell apart from to those it's squarely aimed at e.g. sports, wildlife.
Canon in my view are very inward looking and don't like cannibalising their own product line.
