Canon and Sigma Calibration??

Hi all, I have a Canon 550d and have recently bought a secondhand Sigma 70-200 f2.8 lens. I have found the AF not to be that accurate? to the point I sometimes tweek with the manual focus ring. On doing some research I hear it is possible to have the lens calibrated? Is this done on the lens or the camera? I'm hoping it is on the lens as I have other lenses that I use on a regular basis. I also have a teleconverter for this lens, would that also need calibrating?

Also where is the best place to send/take it to get done?

Unfortunatly I donot think the 550D has micro adoust facilaty. So you may have to send it to Canon or an indipendent technician to have it adjusted. However if the canera is adjusted to the lens it may not focus correctly with your other lens.

If the camera is OK with other lenses, then you should definitely have the lens calibrated by Sigma. They usually want your camera too for best results, but only the lens will be adjusted. Give them a call to get a price.
 
in a perfect world you would need to have the lens calibrated with the camera
the TC shouldn't need calibrating I think

I had a 50-150mm sigma which needed some adjustment and it helped but I didn't want to send the camera off too tbh
