Canon EE-S 5d focus screen treatment?

I've seen on a few other forums that you can get the ee-s focus screens for the 5d treated so that they become ok to use up to f4.

I was about to order one to use with a couple of fast zeiss lenses but would be great if these treated screens were available - does anyone know if it's a US thing or can we get them here in the UK?

I've used the KatzEye equivalents (regular and Optibrite) and the regular are better with fast lenses. Given that you state that you want one for "fast Zeiss lenses" so I'd stick with the regular version.

Thanks Bob, that's good to know, was just in case I occasionally stuck a slower lens on to save me changing screens, but if the regular is better than the treated at faster apertures I'll just go with that

OptiBrite™ or Not?
The general rule of thumb in choosing the correct screen is to assess what lenses will be in common use. If the photographer mainly uses fast prime lenses, the untreated screen is the best choice. But if the photographer uses a mix of lenses that includes compact zooms and/or telephotos, the OptiBrite™ treated screen is recommended for best viewfinder appearance.
