Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens

I am considering the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens having liked the previous version with the plastic mount.

Do people expect it will get much cheaper over the next few months?

I am also wondering how it will compare to the 40mm pancake lens I currently use as my only prime lens...

I think it will be quite a while before we see any price reduction, but Digital Rev have them in stock for £99.00!
I've been thinking about one as i miss the 50mm focal range, but want to wait and see some reviews first.

I have one. For the price I think its excellent. I haven't used it much but I took some shots of my nephew last night at 1.8 and they're very sharp. I bought it to use mainly on my M3 but it will get some time on my 1DIV too.
