According to the EOS Magazine I received today, where it updated a few lens release dates, the 600mm II will be on sale "Within 2011" and based on the other lens dates quoted it will be between September to December.

I couldnt wait for the Mark II and I couldn't really justify the £11K price tag of the new one, so I've just bought what may be the last 600mm f/4 L IS Mark I in the country
