One of my most used lenses. Opinions will vary on amount of space since MFD is not great, some will find it too long especially on a crop body but worked great for me on FF and 1.3x body.
Build and bokeh is great for the price tag it carries.
Personal tip, try one before buying due to focal length.

The only thing that put me off was the shape of the aperture blades/bokeh. I think it's important in a lens like this so I went for the more expensive (and better looking bokeh wise IMVHO) Sigma f1.4. If you don't mind the angled rendering it'll make a lot of sense. A bit long on APS-C for me though.
I used it for virtually anything, weddings, sports, street photography, interviews. The only times where I found it was not suitable for me especially indoors was group shots which is when as you do, a wide angle came out.
At one point, it was my primary lens but as mention, not for everyone.
