Canon EF-S 17-55 replacement EF-S 15-60

it sounds to me like the 15-85mm would be your best bet for what you want pal.
 
I think you are right 15-85 mm it is going to be and maybe the 50 mm F/1.8 stuck in the bad for some arty shots.
