Canon error message : "cannot create folder"

Over the last two or three days, my canon EOS1000D has displayed the "Cannot create folder" message when I insert a memory card. What troubles me is that it hasn't done this before and one of the memory cards I've used is almost unused.

When I insert the card for a second time, it seems to be O.K.

Is this error a indicative of a major problem?

There was a firmware fix for this problem, Ged....make sure you're using 1.0.7.

I've downloaded the files but I must admit updating firmware is a bit daunting. Still, I will bite the bullet!

Don't worry about updating the firmware, just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.
