Canon Ixus 115 HS

Wife want's a new camera, she has went off her Canon SX10 IS which btw way is not a bad camera, her problem is it is too bulky.

She is looking to get a small one that fits in the palm of her hand, takes up no room in her handbag or pocket. She is has no understanding of photography and the various settings on cameras, has no inclination to learn it either. All she wants is to switch it on and press the shutter button at whatever she fancies, and cost no more than £150.00.

All the research stuff she leaves to me to choose for her.

The Canon Ixus 115 HS seems it would fit the bill and her hand nicely. I have never used a Ixus but have seen good opinions on the Ixus in the past.

Anyone here using the Ixus 115 HS just now can tell me what the IQ is like please?

The IXUS 115 HS will beat the SX10 IS as it has a better sensor (latest 12.1MP back-illuminated type). I personally use the IXUS 220 HS because it has a wider angle lens but the sensor is the same. For image quality I think the 115 is good and a bargain at the price it is now, plus it'll do Full HD movie. The screen on the 115 is nice and big and physically it's very small so very easy to carry around. Take a look at amazon's reviews you'll find there's quite a few people happy with it!
