Canon Ixus owners (in particular ones with coloured finish)

I bought the misses a Canon Ixus 220 HS in black, mainly due to its handbag size and good reviews.

After its first ever outing which inc about 110 shots, some of the black coating has peeled away revealing the silver underneath.

It was not dropped, scratched etc etc.

Anyone else had this with coloured canons? I'm not sure whether to exchange it for another black one or change it for silver.

Bouht the missus a pink one sveral years ago, seems OK, but then she doesn't use it that much.

I've had a blue Ixus for years and there are three others in the family just as old and all blue and none have shown this. I suppose it could be a bad batch.

It must be a bad batch. I've got a blue ixus that is about 4 years old now and I've not had any problems with the finish. It's a bit scratched now, but not peeling.
