I think, from what I have read, that canon's "white" colour changed in mid-2010 to become less creamy and closer to white. Does anyone know when that was exactly, and which lenses it applied to (if not all ones with this paint finish?). If mid 2010 it would mean that anything UY07xx and beyond would be the "whiter" finish, UY06xx and lower would be the older creamier finish - more yellow/beige to the colour cast I suppose. The reason I ask is that I want to get some colour touch up paint to sort out a few scratches here and there, and I have mostly pre 2H 2010 lenses, but am about to buy one that is right on the cusp and could be either (til I see it in the flesh I won't know!) I found an ebay seller selling small pots of what looks to be the official pre-2H 2010 colour.
I guess in one respect this is entirely superfluous, but the lens I'm about to buy is less perfect cosmetically than I would usually buy, and I wanted to see if I could do anything about it purely to make myself happy.
Thanks
Jonathan
