Yes
Looking for a new printer, currently I use my dads Canon pixma iP100

How much improvement will I see if I went to Canon Pixma iP4600

Or are there better for the same £80 range?

Thanks

I'm going to be buying a proper printer when we move to a proper house and we have the room, so will be watching this thread with interest.

Sorry I'm of no help

Yes I think its excellent! fairly cheap to run ( 3 original colors can be picked up for £18 on Amazon), and as for the blacks, well 3r party ones seem fine. I use the ones from internet ink.com, and you get 10% discount from them. Its a good printer.

I have the 4500 and it's produced excellent results from day one with no fiddling about, thoroughly recommend Canon printers, great value for money.

I found it to drink ink but make really nice prints. Didn't use it very often as inkjet prints are a bit so-so. Got an all in one combi for documents and labels now instead - I have a dye sub for 6x9s and anothing else goes to a lab

I use one. I print loads of pictures. Love it, only use genuine ink. Great results. Reccommended.

I bought the ip4600 based on several good reviews I had read both in photography magazines and on the web. So far I've been very happy with the results....a bargain at around £80!

I've got ip4500 with a ciss systema ttached to it, cost £30 from ebay and included inks (100ml each) £15 for extra inks, its the dogs! even with compatable ink it is good.

I have the 4500 and love it. Great results and I hear the 4600 beats it.

only a lowly 3600 here............ but love it.... have printed loads a4 borderless............ and it is excellent.......

I found the ink to last quite a while as well...........

I've got some lovely prints from my IP4600, but boy does it drink ink! Five or six A4 prints, a couple of smaller bits n bobs and it was empty. Can't find genuine inks anywhere on the high street for decent money (its around £35 - £45 for the set of genuine inks) they're a lot cheaper online mind.

When I get round to it I'll get some new cartridges and see how it goes again, I looked into the continuous ink systems, bit pricey to start with but they're obviously a lot cheaper in the long run, provided you get the same quality.

is the iP4700 the one up from the iP4600? Logic suggest so, but we all know manufacturers and their model numbers!

If so, then the iP4700 is less than £90 here

Yes, it's the new version, but the changes are mostly cosmetic (at least according to the PCPro review).

I have the ip4700, and am very happy with it.

Go on Amazon, you can get the 3 colours for about £19 if you look. Just get 3rd party blacks from internet ink - just as good. :)

I have the MP620 which is the multi function variant. It does seem to drink ink if you don't use it very often - but I recently came back from holiday and printed off 30+ 4*6's and 20+ A4's and the cartridges are still half full.

7day are the cheapest place I have found for genuine inks.

The ip4700 is supposed to be slightly faster than the ip4600 but I don't think anyone has found any difference in practice.

Can only really add to all of the above, yes they are great printers and I'd def rec one

The 4700 is the new version of the 4600 of the 4500 etc etc

I'm getting the ip4700 soon heard good things and read good things - about same price as the 4600 if you shop around

I have the ip4500 and have had it for a while and have to say it blew me away when I printed my first A4 picture, excellent quality for the home although it is a little bit thirsty and I have found it a little sensitive to the paper quality. So I only use genunie Canon ink and paper now.
