Yes
Was there an expected price drop in the Canon 1Ds Mk3? They have been hovering around the £5200 mark for some time now and all of a sudden have noticed that many companies now have them at £4,499.....

Is this in expectation for a new model  anyone know.

The new model isn't rumoured to be out until after the World Cup... which will be used as a final test bed!

There are some MK4 versions out with the big agency shooters in MK3 bodies being tested at the moment though... guess they aren't wanting to risk another MK3 fiasco!

OR there is the other rumour that it will be out BEFORE the Winter Olympics.

and then again

Canon will announce the camera shortly after the 2010 Olympics. This would put the announcement into the first week of march.

The games will be used as the final testing of the camera. It’s apparently going to be quite vigorous. It’s Canon’s hope to have the camera in the hands of photographers for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Do you reckon Galbraith has got one to try or is he off of Canon's Christmas card list now :D

As per the MkIII release then I'm guessing that the 1D MkIV will be released first and then some months later the 1Ds MkIV??
