Canon sensor Question

Hello

I remember someone telling me that the 5D classic had the same sensor as an older 1 series body but can't remember for the life of me which body it was.

Am I going mad or is that true, if so which model?

isnt the 5d full frame? cos i thought the 1 series were croped sensors not sure though.

1D is crop but 1Ds is full frame..

Not the same

1DS is 11.1 mp
5D is 12.8mp

1ds but mkI, mkII or mkIII bit of googling should give you megapixel values and matching them should tell you which had the same sensors

I would have thought not. The 5D has a 12.8MP sensor, whereas the 1Ds has 11.1MP and the mk2 has 16.7MP.

hmmm maybe compare timings assume the later one would have more MP squeezed from the sensor?

the 5d classic is 12.2 right
