hi..can canon 2 x mk III and canon 1.4 mk III be stacked? in anyway to make 3.4 x the telephoto length?... id assume only on manual?,,useing the new 300mk2 lens..

or would u advise any better teleconverters to use plse ..

i dont want to have to go out and buy another expensive lens!

cheers

mike

No idea... but the focal length is multiplicative, not additive. A 2x and 1.4x will be 2.8x not 3.4x...

No, they won't stack. You can stick a MkII on the front of a MkIII but the MkIII rear orifice is too small for the front of any current Canon extenders.

cheers..are there any good top of the range alternatives that do stack plse?

sorry bob..are u saying if i get the mk2 1.4 and put it on first, then i can stack with the 2 x mk3 ?..sorry..me being clear.. id assume autofocus wont work? and in ur view is this the best solution plse?

A 1.4x (MkII or III) has to fit on the camera.....end of.

A 2x II will mount onto a 1.4x (MkII or III) or a 2x (MkII or III)

A 2x III has to fit on the camera....end of.

Hope that clarifies things.

I have used a 1.4x and 2x on an f/2.8 lens and maintained AF and also tried MF with two 2x's stacked. My advise would be a 1.4x (either Mk) and a 2x (MkII)
