Never had to do this before,i have LR3,i need to remove a registration number from a car, what is the procedure for this.:):thumbs:

Don't know about LR3 but in LR4 use the adjustment brush to paint over it.

Cheers for that,will try that.

Are we car photographers supposed to clear the number plate? I always thought if the car was out in town or at a race track then no but if its on someones drive then yes?

Yes i think your right, but this is a job i am doing for someone on private land & i have to avoid showing any registrations.:)

Where does that come from ? I know that Google StreetView tries to do it (failed in my own case), but is there a law requiring it ?

I have to do this for news shots. Apparently (this was what I was told when I asked years back - any different reasons would be interesting) crooks can use the number for dodgy insurance claims and re-plating nicked cars of the same make & colour.

If that's the case, I cannot see what difference it makes whether the car is in a private drive or on a public road.

I don't do it in my photography, makes the image look worse. Unless you've used a flash then I try and dull the plate/reflectors down. People at shows who are bothered take the plates off/have show plates

Cheers for replies, interesting thoughts on this.

no legal reason to remove number plate - I think it looks gash with a photoshopped out number plate.

I think it depend on how you take it out  where it's not going to take me too long I actually take the entire plate out

Such as on this truck the numberplate was on the bumper
