There is often a lot of questions about rig shots, so I've taken the time to make a video explaining how to do them. I will create another video soon on how to edit them, but I hope this is useful and interesting to some of the people on here!

ps. mods, if this is in the wrong section, I do apologise and feel free to move it :)

Really interesting. I know you've posted about car rigs in the past, it's good to see it in 'real life' so to speak. The points about bodywork strength are something that could quite easily be overlooked. Quite interested in having a go at a mini-rig.... will have a look at Focus2012 to see what gear I can pick up :)

If you need a car to practice on you know where I am, it's something that I want to do, but there's kit I need to get before I buy a rig.

George. What are your adjustable links from suckers to clamps?

You seem to have moved on from Screwfix aerial pole. What pole are you using now?
Cheers

One comment I have is that I never leave my camera strap handing

P.S. You look nothing like i imagined :D

Well I can't give everything away, that'd be spoonefeeding ;)

nice video. Surprised at just how much wobble there is in that pole - have you considered tensioning it with steel wire?

Considered and decided not to. The pics come out fine. lots of wobble in this video because it was done on gravel

George, what diameter is that tubing and how much left is there for the super clamps to open up?

about 4cm IIRC. Could probably quite easily use 6m, but of course that'd mean more rig width to edit out.

cannot belive that you can get sharp pictures with that amount of wobble, but the end results shows that you can!!
