Carrying 2 cameras - female wedding togs

Hello all, always looking on here and first post! I'm really interested to know how other female wedding photographers carry their equipment, do you have a bag you prefer? I prefer to have 2 bodies on the go and its hard work sometimes.What about spider holster or other belt systems? I find a lot of the time I read articles and look at equipment and it seems more geared to and practical for male photographers and I am struggling for a better and more efficient way to carry my gear and be comfortable! Any tips???

Whilst I can't comment from a lady's PoV (I've never dared demand my girlfriend carry my kit for me!!) I can recommend the Black Rapid DR1 dual harness for carrying two cameras, I've worked 12 hours non stop carrying a pair of 1 series bodies with lenses and flashes and didn't feel any fatigue from carrying them at all, despite having a neck injury.
 
I use the DR1 too....it wouldn't appear likely to be any less comfortable on a female form (of average proportions).

If a mere male may offer advice - one camera/lens/flash being used or over one shoulder, one spare body with longer lens for aisle shortening in bag (Billingham Hadley), along with spare flash, batteries etc. Carry tripod into church with bag when you arrive at church, plonk second body and lens on it ready and leave at the back ready for aisle shortening duties, secrete bag safely in the church, and go out to do battle with the arriving crowd with batteries and memory cards in pockets...... Use the bag when you have to, dump it when you don't....... certainly don't wander around with it if you can avoid it!

I certainly wouldn't try carrying/using 2 bodies for the main parts of a wedding - one good short zoom should do most of what you want.....

take a look at the Jessica Clare Shootsac (one is for sale on the forums - which I had sold to the OP of the thread !). Mine saw 3 seasons of wedding use.

Used as a lens + accessories bag over one shoulder or like a messenger bag if you are comfortable that way. It keeps your kit with you at all times (for convenience and to prevent it getting nicked) but is light and shapes to your body.

One camera over a shoulder, and the other in your hand. Whether you use conventional straps or something like a black-rapid.

Obviously I'm not female - but the range is widely used by women and some guys.

I'm not a fan of the spider holster - I know some people who hated it and others that love it so it may just be a bit marmite, and whilst I use a belt system for sports type work I didn't ever think it looked good at a wedding (especially if you are wearing a jacket of any kind). You might be able to carry it off better with trousers and a blouse especially if you went for a slim belt and small packs.
 
Suppose a woman should comment :D

a double Rapid strap for me when I want both 'on' me, much more comfortable than they look [and I am not small in the chest department] with the advantage you can split it into two separate straps when needed. Oh yes, and easy enough to wear an open jacket over the top of to make it look less 'blokey' ;)
 
Ah thanks everyone, thats a lot of great advice and tips much appreciated (and extra big thank you to the "mere men" ;-) ) Gonna have a look at all of those options!
