CHA Error on D90 ?

Anyone heard of the CHA error on the D90. I just had this on my camera, it was just flashing in the display and camera refused to take a photo. I took the card out and put it back (after switching off camera) and it worked but reading on the web it seems to be a fairly common problem.

Some say its the memory card fault some say its the camera. I am using Sandisk cards and some say that is the problem....


Any help appreciated :shrug:

John this was a common problem with the D70's of which ive had 3, two of them periodically gave that error, usually simply taking the CF card out and reseating cured the problem although I know of D70s where eventually the Card Reader had to be replaced, whether its less likely with the D90 I dont know but chances are its a one off, reseat the card and format it in camera and chances are it wont happen again
 
this happens to me when the switch on the memory card has slipped to the lock position... check the little switch on the card and move it to the opposite side.
 
Thanks, yeah I checked and it was unlocked. I don't mind now and again having to take card out and put it back but want worries me is some people saying they lost images from the card to.

Anyone here have that happen. ?


Also just read a post online that someone with a D700 had this problem to and lost all their images from the card... that's scary !!
