Yes
I've read some reviews of the Canon 40mm STM pancake lens and they seem quite favourable. So I'm wondering if there is a problem with them as I've found one from camera paradise for £72.86. Being a suspicious of too good a price, is it the lens or the store, or is it good deal?

Its a very good price for the lens if it arrives, but then I suppose it's not a lot of money to gamble with.

It's a Hong Kong seller, and legally you are liable for all tax and duty that is required.

By purchasing from us, you agreed that you had complied with your corresponding legal regulations applied regarding but not confined to the legal usage of the items bought, the legal age required for viewing, buying or possessing our items, etc.. We will not be held liable for a purchaser neglecting to ensure their local compliance with laws.

Also, by ordering from us, you agreed to handle your local taxation voluntarily in case your local custom charges a specific tax on the products purchased from us.

Always a snag somewhere. Still 20% more's still not to bad

If I was going to risk buying grey, I would probably go with DigitalRev, at least they have a good name for actually sending you the item, and they have a policy of paying the tax/duty if required.

Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM
In Stock (Ships within 24 hours)

No Import Tax/Duty to Pay:
Any import tax/duty charged will be billed directly to us.

Worth a try for HDEW and flashcamera - Kerso on here.
Not sure if the 40mm is in the current canon cashback - if it is then you'll get cashback from Kerso purchase ...

Wow

I suspect those fulfilled by Amazon will probably be grey imports though ...

Possibly, but the lens has to be in the country to be "fulfilled by Amazon" so doesn't have the risk of being posted from HK or being stung for tax/duty on arrival.

Amazon handle CS in the event of a problem as well.

That's a good point.

Personally I'd opt for HDEW at £115 over Digital rev - I think they're about £104 - for the minimal difference in price, but a saving is a saving and both get good reviews / followers on here.

Agreed, but I would recommend the OP checks that HDEW actually have the item in physical stock in the UK, they seem to have messed a few people around recently where an item is paid for and only then do they attempt to source the item in HK (and take a long time or fail), I would presume a cheapish lens should be carried in stock though.

I think HDEW or DR are both vey safe bets.
From what I've read HDEW do tend to order most of their stock in once its been ordered, but I know at least two people personally that have had their orders delivered within 4 days of placing them.

Personaly I would go with a name company, one I can check up on, rather than trying to save a few quid.

For £102 in stock I'd go with DR (I've got most of my current gear from them).
