Not sure, but this looks as good a place as any to drop this post. In another life (to tell the truth, in this one as well when I can) I am a bit of a kite-person. That included making as well as flying and consequently there are a few bits and pieces laying around that sometime come in handy.
Like now - got a couple of Nikons, a D1x and an F90x, both of which have the 10-pin port and the PC port, and both of which have lost their covers. Nearly £7 a pair is a bit steep for a couple of bits of plastic - even by Nikon standards - so I had a poke about. Kite spars have rubber protectors that come in many sizes depending on spar diameter. So, I got a 6mm one for the 10-pin port and a 5mm one for the PC port. Cut down to maybe 5mm long they are a perfect fit in the holes, and come in around 10p each - any kite shop will have them in stock.
