works fine and locks for longer exposures.

I got one for my 400d for a couple of quid delivered from hong kong on eBay. Does the job nicely.

Why on earth shouldn't you buy the genuine Canon one?

It's a piece of wire, plug and a switch, £42 difference in quality...

Mind you, some people spend hundreds on speaker cable and tell you it sounds better.....

actually it does effect sound quality, HDMI cables on the other hand

Get any cheap one off ebay, does the job. Lets face it its not going to effect IQ.
