Cheapest. Fastest(1.4 or less). Nikon fit prime.

Hi all,

I am looking for prime's > or = f1.4 - that would fit a Nikon body. The prime does not necessarily have to be a nikon lens but just be able to fit nikon bodies...Cheaper the better! MF is fine.

Heard things about samyang?

Any suggestions?

Would you go second hand? If so you could get a old MF Nikkor 50/1.4 for between £50-100. I picked mine up for a fiver lol

Yup second hand is a good shout - will look into those. Is that a 50mm 1.4 AIS? Ebay brings those up at circa £200

Samyang just announced a 30mm f/1.4, if it's anything like their other manual primes it should be great value for money.

Can you narrow down what kind of focal length you want?

Hi Adam,

Something to walk around with on a film slr predominantly so im thinking 85mm max or less. More around 50/30/24 etc

I just bought that Samyang and can vouch for the quality. I'm very demanding of lenses and it's a beautiful thing.
