Hi all,

I am after a relatively cheap tripod for taking static pictures of cars and motorcycles.

Can anyone recommend anything to me?

Many thanks(y)

The problem with most cheap tripods is that they do nothing to make your images better. A small wift o air is enough to cause camera shake.

Get a Manfroto 190 or an 055 proB and a decent head and you will enjoy using it rather than be frustrated with a jessops cheapy.

Ah sorry.... was half asleep at time.

I have a D50 and will be using either a Sigma 70-300 or the 18-55mm it came with.

Other option is a beanbag.

My mum made us one each out of a brown leather so we can wipe them down if they get dirty from mud or anything like that.

Beanbags work well when you have something to use as support. If you want a nice landscape shot and the only option you have is to place the beanbag is the ground then you're not going to have a very nice landscape image are you? :)

I recently got a manfrotto modo, it was small enough to fit in my case to take on holiday, took the weight of the 20d and siggy10-20 (just) and stayed solid even 3700m up mount teide. £40 from fotosense bolton.
